Home Health Aide


Learn to provide health care services and personal care to patients in their homes in this 5-week program. Students earn licensing and certification in this field.

This profession has a huge demand as people who become ill, have a disability, and advance in age need help if they want to remain in their homes. A career as a home health aide professional is impactful. You will help improve the patient’s overall quality of life and enable them to live more comfortably.

  • Basic nutrition
  • Checking vital signs
  • Dressing wounds
  • Maintaining patient care records
  • Helping with physical therapies
  • Personal hygiene standards
  • Collecting routine specimens
  • Assisting with personal activities, domestic and household tasks
  • Transporting and/or accompanying patients
  • Providing companionship and emotional support

60 hours of classroom instruction

16 hours of clinical/lab training

24 hours of Life Skills and Career Services

Requirements

  • 18 years of age
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen
  • 8th grade reading level
