PANELIST EXPECTATIONS

We are looking forward to seeing you this Friday, November 22nd at 6 pm!

If you are running late, please text/call Katey at 973-219-6980 with your name and ETA.

We are providing three documents:

  1. Your biographies (copies will also be printed and available at Registration)
  2. Your panelist assignments and the presentation criteria
    1. Panelist assignments may change at the last minute depending on cancellations
  3. A campus map - Parking is available in areas A, B, or C (green boxes, lower left on the map near Sitterly House and Lewis House). Enter the campus on Campus Drive, off of Madison Ave (Route 124.)

What to expect at Bear Den:

  • Registration starts at 6:00 in the Brothers College lobby
    • Presentations begin at 6:30, and all are scheduled to end by 8:00.
    • Please come to the panelist registration desk in the Brothers College lobby to get your nametag. Your assigned classroom number will be printed on your nametag.
  • Printed copies of the program schedule will be provided at the Registration desk
    • Some students are presenting twice, and may be moving between classrooms during the evening
  • After each student presentation, the panelists provide feedback based on this presentation criteria
  • There will be one moderator per panel/classroom
    • The moderator will introduce the class and panelists, keep track of time, and make sure the feedback is within the criteria for evaluation
    • For many of the panels, the moderator is the course Professor. Some panels/classrooms will have other faculty, staff, or alumni moderators.
  • If you have any accessibility issues, please let us know immediately so we can place you in a panel/classroom on the first floor
  • Brothers College lounge will be used for the networking reception from 8 - 9 pm after the end of the presentations
    • Please stay to network and meet the students - they’ve been given your bios and look forward to meeting you! Food and refreshments will be provided.
    • We encourage you to approach our students and introduce yourselves. This may be the first time many students are in a networking situation.
      • Here are some questions to begin the conversation: How did your presentation go? How does your presentation relate to your interests? Does your presentation relate to any potential career fields you are interested in?
    • Attire for moderators and panelists is business or business casual
    • Water bottles will be provided for panelists and moderators, but you are welcome to bring a reusable water bottle to refill on the first floor of Brothers College
